The Tardis style Police Box makes it to the wedding of Robert and Leanne at the Minden Retreat in Queensland
The Retreat even has it’s own onsite Church – Awesome!
Hire a Doctor Who Style Tardis
If you’re planning on travelling to London in the next few months, our Tardis Builder Tom in England has volunteered to share out his home to any Australian Whovian who wants to book through the Wimdu Travel website
You’ll get to meet the Daleks, the OOD and The Silence too!
You lucky things!You lucky things!
The Lords of Time – such a rare opportunity to have FOUR of the actors who played Doctor Who come to Australia. Peter Davidson (5th Doctor), Colin Baker (6th Doctor), Sylvester McCoy (7th Doctor) and Paul McGann (8th “Movie” Doctor) – along with John Leeson (K9), Janet Fielding (Tegan) and Nicholas Briggs (voice of the Daleks and writer of many of the Big Finish Audio plays)
We were happy to provide our Tardis for the event – and billy bonus, all four Doctors signed her too!!
We are happy Tardis people 🙂
Supanova comes to the Gold Coast again – and Hire a Tardis helped the 501st Legion raise money for their two chosen charities – “Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia” and “Frankee-Lee’s Hearing Spree”
Many many thanks to all those who very kindly donated money via our Gold Coin Donation whilst having their photos taken with the two Doctors and the Tardis.
We love Supanova – seeing all of the great costumes and meeting lots of new friends.
Event Cinemas teamed up with the BBC to show a simultaneous screening around Australia of two Doctor Who episodes – The Impossible Astronaut and The Day of the Moon – as part of this years 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who. Hire a Tardis were more than happy to help Event Cinemas at Garden City, QLD put on a show for when the Whovians arrived. More than 350 turned up for the screening, with many dressed as their favourite characters from the show
Supanova Pop Culture Expo is where the adoring public comes face to face with Supa-Star celebrities and the creative talent that inspire their imaginary worlds under one big roof.
Gathered from and surrounded by the wonderful worlds of science-fiction, pulp TV/movies, toys, console gaming, trading cards, animation/cartoons, fantasy, comic books, entertainment technology, books, internet sites and fan-clubs, the result is an amazing atmosphere tailor made for expessing your inner geek and where getting into cosplay (cos-tume role-play) is the obvious thing to do
The Big Blue Box makes an appearance at the Gaslight Parade in Ipswich, QLD (Australia). The Old Flour Mill is Transported back in time (possibly by the Steampunk Tardis??) that mysteriously materialised for the night.
There are Edwardian and Steampunk Stalls, A Victorian Flash Mob Freeze (with particpants being inviting to take part in costume) – there is an Edwardian Photo Booth, for you to take some vintage family snaps and if you don’t yet have anything to wear, then Cassandra’s Closet is the place to reveal your darker fantastical self , as well as opportunities to have your photo taken with the big Blue Box herself!!
This Police Box is based on the David Tennant style of Tardis. She’s much larger than the Tom Baker version and much wider and has the “battered” old look (unlike the shiney new looking Matt Smith Box)
